Bill Mills is the founder of BMA Production Services, aka, Digital Cinema Production Services. His work as a cinematographer and filmmaker has spanned decades, formats and styles.
Bill is an EMMY award winning cinematographer, producer, and director. He has circled the globe filming for National Geographic, BBC Television, CBS 60 Minutes, Discovery, NOVA, a variety of corporate clientele and most major networks.
Underwater cinematography, aerial drone, and high speed (motion control) cinematography are other specialties offered by Mills. He was Director of Photography for the award winning series, “Dispatches From the Gulf” on PBS, three seasons of Chef Emeril Lagasse’s “Emeril’s Florida”; and a Cayman Island special for PBS’ “Born to Explore”.
As DP for the 1997 Primetime Emmy Award winning National Geographic Special “Tigers of the Snow”, Mills also earned a Kodak Vision Award for cinematography. He was honored with two coveted Edward R. Murrow Awards as part of his topside and underwater cinematography services on a CBS/60 Minutes Special with Anderson Cooper in Cuba and NBC prime time special on the “Costa Concordia” disaster.
An avid sailor, USCG Licensed Captain, FAA certified UAV Pilot, and Master SCUBA Diver Bill has combined his passion for cinema production with his love of the oceans and all things water.
He has been a Fellow National member of the Explorer’s Club since 2014, earning a Citation of Merit award for his work with Bezos Expeditions in the recovery of the Apollo 11 engines from the deep ocean.
